Fairbanks, AK

After Homer we flew to Fairbanks. In Fairbanks we saw the Alaskan Pipeline that is mainly underground but it also is found above ground. It was very cool to see. We also got to pan for gold. I totally understand the gold rush now. It took 15 minutes and I was able to pan $50 worth of gold. We were able to see a native village and learn about their life. We saw a plane land and take off from the river. Learned that Fairbanks can get 90 degrees in the summer and 60 below in the winter. Enjoy the pictures!!!

Day 3 and 4 Still in Homer

We were able to get the full tour of Homer by cruising the town and by 4-wheeling. We had beautiful weather and yet everything was muddy. Which made 4-wheeling a blast. We were able to get good pictures of glaciers, moose, and some adult and juvenile bald eagles. This first moose is probably one of the ones that like to eat my Aunt's peas.

Yes I have more flower pictures :)

At first we thought this was a golden eagle but then realized that it was a juvenile bald eagle.

MUDDY!!!!!!

This was a picture of the group before we got muddy

If you see that most of this sand looks black it is because it is. It is coal that washes up on shore.

First 2 days in Alaska

So we started our Alaska adventure by flying to Anchorage, Alaska. We got in at night and just walked around downtown and found something to eat. This was a lot harder than anticipated. Either the restaurants were closed, had a 2 hour wait, or wanted $17 for a hamburger. We found a dive at the train station that we were able to find something to eat since it was now 830pm.

The next morning we got up at 400am to get to the temple by 530 session. The first picture is how the temple looks at 530. The next 2 pictures were taken at 730.

We then hit the road to drive to Homer, Alaska. Where we stayed with my Aunt Janet and Uncle Aron. Our first sighting of wildlife were these Dahl Sheep.

The rest of the drive was made up of beautiful scenery.

Of course I had to take several flower pictures :)

We finally made it to Homer!!!

On the Spitz of Homer there is this very cool Seafarer's Memorial

TO BE CONTINUED!!!!
